My Happy Place - Tina Ollett,

Welcome and hello.
I hope that this blog post finds you well.
Tina Ollett with you today to share my Moodboard inspired creation for December. It is just gorgeous. I set to work pretty quickly after spying it on the facebook page. And of course I set about doing something a little beachy.

"My happy place"

For my creation I have used Sand and Sea paper from 49andMarket for my background. I did a little colouring with colours and Crackle Texture paste to help colour my paper a little more. With the left over mixture I dressed the Decorative Frame #3 which you can see below. Once it dried I added my photo to the back of it.

And to the back of this I then adhered the Ships Wheel medium. This piece of chippie was dressed in texture paste and ink.

This was my starting point. From here I added in some beautiful 49andMarket Floral Mixology flowers in champagne and Blue Hawaiin shades. I also added in some 3D embellishments from the Sand and Sea collection along with some of my own shells from my stash.

Working outwards from the decorative frame I added in a couple of the cute mini seagulls.

And then I ripped some pieces of the fish net panel and tucked them in and around the flower clustering.

And lastly I added in my title "My happy place " from the mini tabs #6 sheet. I adore these they are just perfect. This was simply dressed with a little white gesso and adhered to the base of my layout.

Well that is all from me today. I hope you will try your hand at this month's moodboard which I have left here for you below. Gorgeous isn't it ? You could win yourself $100 worth of Dusty Attic goodies. Simply create something using something from the moodboard which inspires you along with some Dusty Attic products and post it to the blog page before the end of December. Good luck !!

Hugs

Tina xo

Pick Flowers - Sanderijn De Bruin

Hi everybody,

The last project of my design team membership has come. It is with great sadness that I have to leave this amazing design team...But new adventures have come my way, and I just need more time to follow them...

Jennifer Hedger, your warmth and believe in me are still making me humble, and I will treasure the gratefulness of being part of your amazing team. Thank you for everything.

I have created a layout to give you all some sweet and tender advise...Pick flowers, not fights, and stay wild and free. Forever.

Dusty Attic is the only chipboard company that really fits my style. High quality and such a great assortiment. The best chipboard brand for me! Definitely!

I have a step by step photo tutorial for you, how I created this layout.

Step 1. Brush a thin layer of clear gesso over the paper and let dry.

Step 2. Use heavy white gesso to add the pattern from the stencil.

Step 3. When the first layer is dry, add a second layer with Dusty in Colour acrylic paints and the snowflake patterned stencil.

Step 4. Stamp a grungy clear stamp pattern on the paper, using the same green paint.

Step 5. Paint all pieces of chipboard.

Step 6 + 7. Glue down the chipboard and some lace with 3d matte gel.

Step 8. Add your photo and flowers, die cuts, tags, etcera.

Step 9. Cover your photo and splatter some fluid acrylic white ink on the paper.
Add a little sparkle with sequins and loose glitter.

With great pride, I will say goodbye...

With love, Sanderijn

Dream - Nicole Doiron - December Challenge Inspiration

Hello Dusty FANattics!!!

Nicole here today to share with you a very fun and whimsical layout
based on the Dusty Attic December mood board challenge!

Here is the lovely December mood board.

I was so inspired by the board as I absolutely loved its colours and retro feel!

I used only black, white and different hues of teal/aquamarine blue
so I treated all my chipboard with a combination of dark charcoal Copic marker
and the lovely Oceania Dusty in Colour acrylic paint.

I fussy cut the photo of my friend's beautiful daughter and created
with an array of flowers and the gorgeous and intricate Floral Fantasy design.

On my background white cardstock and beautiful 13arts Vintage Moments paper,
I used the River Stones stencil (as seen above) and a mixed media stamp.

To go with the Floral Fantasy chipboard, I also used the Fantasy Flowers
and one of the Paisley #3 border. These pieces are absolute must haves!

I added a few Mini Dragonflies and then lightly misted the embellishments
with some Daily ART white Vintage Ink Spray.
Speaking of embellishments, the fabulous steampunk badges are from Cuts2luv!

I am very proud of how my page turned out and I find that it complements
the December mood board perfectly with a little 60's flower child look!

These are Treasured memories - Gerry Van Gent - Challenge Inspiration

Hello Crafty Friends!

Gerry's here today sharing with you my take on this month's moodboard.
I totally love the colours of the moodboard. I knew at once which photo
I want to scrap with these blues and greens. I added bold red touches to
give some Christmas feeling to my project.

PRODUCTS  I  USED:

˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜
I didn't doubt for a second to use all of the Flower Stamens chippies.
Aren't they simply fabulous! I painted them with gesso, then with
Dusty in Colour Oceania and finally I adhered an epoxy sticker in the centres.

The title was treated first with a layer of gesso. After that I distressed it
with both Dusty in Colour: "Oceania" and "Jungle Green".

The modelling paste was mixed with Dusty in Colour Jungle Green.
